The Services I provide
Let’s start here
Building a website and deploying it (sending it live) requires a few things.
First, you need your domain name registered. Second you need to have someone to host your site and finally you need a website.
To make this easier to understand, the host is like a block of land, the website is like a house and the domain name is the street address.

Definitions
Static Web Pages
Static Web pages can feature detailed multimedia design and even videos. However, every visitor to that page will be greeted by the exact same text, multimedia design or video. Examples: website pages, social media profiles (not feeds), eBooks, whitepapers, emails, landing pages, social media ads, videos, one-way webinars.
Dynamic Web Pages
Dynamic Web pages are capable of producing different content for different visitors. Examples: blogs, rss feeds, social media feeds, smart forms, personalized advertising.
Content Management System
CMS is a computer application that allows a user to log in to the site using a username and password so that they can then go ahead and publish, edit, modify, organise, delete, and maintain the content that is seen on the website. When dealing with websites this is often referred to as logging into the back-end.
Secure Sockets Layer
SSL is a method of encrypting data as it travels across the Internet ensuring that private information remains private and secure. When users send private information to a website, it may go through a dozen of other servers and networks before reaching the destination. This is when your customers’ information could be intercepted unless it is encrypted.
What information, needs protecting?
- User authentication (Passwords and Logins) to allow access to restricted information
- Financial Information (online orders, credit card numbers, bank accounts)
- Sensitive data: Social Security Numbers, IDs, Birth Dates, License Numbers.
- Medical Information
- Proprietary or Confidential Information, Legal Documents, Contracts, Client Lists.
So if you have an E-commerce site and want to know if you need an SSL, the answer is yes.
Understanding what an SSL certificate is and does people ask, why not cover my entire site with an SSL certificate? This is not recommended as encrypting and decrypting data takes time and computer resources, slowing down your connections. Therefore only use it where you need it and avoid putting extra load on the server so your pages do not take longer to load.
